Welcome Sylvia!

Family in motion

V & H has gotten a sister! Last saturday (10/1 -09), at 18:09 little Sylvia ("forrest girl") was born. Both she and Linda have managed very well, so me and the boys got them home from the maternity ward the day after (ie yesterday).

Labor started in the night before (around 2:00), but Linda let me sleep til 8:30. Then we called a friend about taking care of the boys. When we called the maternity ward - they said they were full, and pomissed to call back. A couple of minutes later - they called and asked us to wait until 10 o'clock. Not a perfect start.

Here's the rest of the story, but first the image gallery: http://blueturtle.nu/ibn/gallery/baby

When we got there, the metering stuff was out of wack - making L pissed (a lot of metering done, in awkward positions, with very little data being recorded). The adrenalin made labor slow down, and they sent us home.

We live quite a drive from town, and got there by taxi; going home by bus was not an option, and by taxi would have been a bit too expensive. So we called my brother, Håkan, and he came by car and drove us home to his place (much closer) - and gave us time to rest and then lunch. (Thanks!)

After that, labor was going fine - and we went back to the maternity ward, and two hours later - little Sylvia was born! :)

I stayed until 22:30, and caught a series of busses which brought me home around 00:00. The boys got to sleep over at their friends' place (thanks to you too!) - and after breakfast we went to town to meet the little sister.

We were told that she'd be coming home after the doctor had a look. Estimated time for the doc was 9.00, but actual time was 16.00 - so we had tons of fun showing the other new parents what kids are like after 7-9 years. ;)

Now, at least, we are at home. I have 2 weeks leave, and the boys have a baby to brag about in school - so all is well.
